Gorgeous antique Nippon porcelain footed biscuit or cracker jar made in Japan. It is hand painted in pink and magenta roses and green leaves with lots of gold accents. The bottom of the jar has the blue "Nippon Hand Painted" maple leaf mark as shown in the photos. It measures approximately 7" wide and 8 1/4" high to the lid finial.
The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. There may be a few tiny pinhead-sized specks of loss of the painted floral pattern and a little wear of the gold decoration mostly on the finial and jar's rim. Two of the feet were ground by the manufacturer to make the piece sit level as shown in the photos. They are not repaired! This jar displays beautifully and would make a fine addition to any collection.
