French Enamel Casket box: likely Tahan but not marked. French master enamelists from the 19c created these labor intensive caskets, (generaly based on copper): thru a process of using enamel powders in a liquid suspension, kiln fired up to five times(creating a glassine finish from a liquid medium), thereby layered coloring and motifs.The box measures approx. 80mm x 60mm x 60mm and weighs 184g. There is a slight bit of damage to the edge of the top and 3 very fine hairlines (one on the top and 2 on side panes), as shown in the pictures. Highest caliber workmanship with raised jewel detail.
