French mother of pearl needle case. Interior fitting has. Minor chip.
This is a good looking Palais Royal Mother of Pearl Neele case, early 1800's possibly from a workbox.
It has a nibble out of the closure but closes well and does not detract from the overall appearance of the needle case.
It has a beautiful lustre to the MOP and a Gold chased band around the edge of the lid.
It measures 7.2 cm in length and 1.0 cm wide and 3mm in depth.
Palais Royal nearly always used 18 ct gold on their pieces, this is not stamped.
A nice addition to a workbox or a collector of needlework tools.
